Tod Higinbotham - Chief Executive Officer
Tod Higinbotham has over 25 years experience leading technology companies with a primary focus on advanced materials in the semiconductor, display, and solar markets. He has extensive experience working throughout Asia and has been responsible for creating several successful growth businesses.
Tod served as Executive Vice President of Microelectronics for ATMI Inc. from 2007-2013. He led the rapid growth of the business which was sold for over $1 billion. Prior to that he was General Manager for the Materials Division for several years, and was the key executive that led the restructuring of the company to refocus on core competencies and collaborating directly with customers to develop new, innovative solutions. Prior to joining ATMI, he was the Director of Sales and Marketing for the Electronic Materials Division of Komatsu, Ltd.
Tod earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Portland State University and an MBA from University of Washington. He is a regular speaker in the U.S. and Asia on leadership, materials technology trends, and breaking down the cultural barriers to doing business globally.
Jeff Phillips - Chief Technology Officer
Dr. Jeff Phillips possesses more than 25 years of experience in R&D, manufacturing and technology management in the battery, energy and electronics industries.
As the PowerBook Technology Manager at Apple Computer he was responsible for the purchase and implementation of $350 million of PowerBook components. He also served as the Program Manager and Director of Technology for Altus Corporation, where he was an executive team member and managed Research & Development focusing on Rechargeable & Primary Lithium batteries.
With a PhD in Electrochemistry from University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Jeff holds 65 patents with a further 40 pending. He has authored more than 20 technical publications.
Salil Soman - Vice President, Product Marketing
Salil Soman is Vice President of Product Marketing at PowerGenix, where he leads strategic product marketing and business development for automotive and stationary storage applications. Soman brings more than 15 years of experience across multiple battery technologies and other advanced energy storage systems. Previously at PowerGenix, he was responsible for the design, development and integration of Nickel-Zinc battery systems in power tool, military, transportation and UPS applications. Prior to PowerGenix, Soman spent 10 years in several key engineering management positions at Ovonic Battery Company and at Cobasys, now a wholly owned subsidiary of Robert Bosch Battery Systems and a tier-1 supplier to major automotive manufacturers worldwide.
He holds a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts, and an MBA in Technology Management from the University of Colorado. A private pilot, Soman enjoys exploring the Southern California deserts, mountains and coastline with family and friends on weekends, when it’s time to recharge his own batteries.
